2006 Cluckbucket.com Chicken Wing Joint of the Year

It is with great pleasure that we introduce the first ever Cluckbucket.com Wing Joint(s) of the Year. Because of the tremendous turnout of voters in specific geographic areas we have decided to crown not just one, but two Wing Joints of the year. With only two days left in the voting, a candidate emerged from the middle of nowhere and without further adieu, here are the results:

East Coast Champion
B. Hall’s Bar and Grill (St. Charles, MO)

West Coast Champion
Fire on the Mountain (Portland, OR)

The Runner’s Up
East Coast - The Anchor Bar and Grill (Buffalo, NY)
West Coast - Jim’s Wings (Ft. Collins, CO)

The Skinny on the Winners

B. Hall’s is a neighborhood sports bar and grill in the St. Louis suburb of St. Chuck. They take pride in their outstanding family environment that draws in sports teams, families, and then the typical bar types. Their wing prowess has been proven through a consistent performance at the St. Charles Wing Ding (the premier wing event covering Missouri and Illinois) year over year (they even claimed the top prize in 2005). They have breaded wings with a traditional hot sauce as well as “King Wings” which are naked with a sweet and spicy mustard sauce. As one voter put it, “they have the best wings I’ve ever tasted in my life, and I’m pretty fat so that means I know what I’m talking about.” Um, enough said.

Fire on the Mountain

Fire on the Mountain is the mecca of wings for the Portland area, and for the entire west coast as far as we're concerned. Their devotion to the purity and the sanctity of the wing is truly amazing and delivers in the form of a constantly solid product. They offer multiple sauce options (but their traditional “hot” sauce is the best) and have large, perfectly crisp naked (non-breaded) wings. The icing on the cake for this establishment is the great people that work there, the laid back environment, and oh, did I mention the fresh cut French fries. Absolutely a wing joint to die for!!!

We'll be posting post-contents interviews with B. Hall's and Fire on the Mountain soon, so please check back in with us.
