2003 Greater Columbus, OH Wing Tour

Sponsored by Don Huling

Post Wing Tour Update by Don Huling:

Our wings tour was a great success.  Our desire is to have another with a group from southeast Ohio joining forces with a group from another wings area and enjoying wings and fellowship together.

Our great discovery was a bar in a very small town that has excellent wings.  The amazing part is that it is in BUFFALO, OHIO and is called the Buffalo Grill.  It is the focal point of an extremely small area and the people there are super friendly as well as having great wings.  Also, they are open by 6:00 on a Saturday and serve a great breakfast to start a wings tour.  A classic breakfast:  A western omelet and a plate of Buffalo hot wings!!!

Saturday, February 8, 2003

Wing Tour Agenda:

  1. Meet under the Marietta K-Mart sign at 10:00 Saturday morning.

  2. Head North on I-77 to Cambridge. We stop in Cambridge if we find a wings place there but that doesn't look good so far. Anyone know of one?

  3. Head West on I-70 to Zanesville. Ron Craig assures me there is a good wings place there.

  4. Head to Columbus. First priority is picking up OSU students (Dave, Bill, whoever else they can bring) and go to WingsXtreme, 1437 N. High St. This could be a good place to meet any Columbus area wingers.

  5. Continue wings tour of Columbus area. These sites all almost definite as we have been there and they are well worth the visit: Rush Creek Sports Bar and Grill - Westerville, Quaker Steak and Lube - Polaris Parkway, Roadhouse Wings and Cafe - Rome-Hilliard Rd.

  6. These are sites worthy of a first visit: Kacy's Sports Bar and Grill - North - on East Wilson Bridge Rd., Mr. Geero - East - in McNaughton Center off I-270 and Main St.

  7. A must visit for traditionally male guy stuff reasons: Hooters - 2171 E. Dublin-Granville Rd.

  8. On to Lancaster and: BW3, Roosters Another yet to be discovered wings place that is supposed to be in Lancaster

  9. On to Athens and: Red Brick Tavern - Formerly Buffalo Wings and Rings

  10. Return to Marietta

RULES OF THE ROAD:

  1. Bring adult male insane friends

  2. Rolling down vehicle windows costs $5

  3. We don't have to visit all the above mentioned locations - we will decide as we go by consensus

  4. Farting is manly and cool - reacting to others farts in a negative way is wussy

  5. No women are to be included - SO WE CAN JOKE ABOUT THEM AND STARE AT THE GOOD LOOKERS - if we find any

  6. Barfing is okay as long as its NOT IN A VEHICLE

  7. Washing of hands is optional - preferably do so BEFORE YOU PEE

If you would like to be a part of this amazing inaugural event, please email Don at dthuling@charter.net and let him know...
