2004 National Buffalo Wing Festival Buffalo Wing Eating Championships For the past two Labor Day weekends, Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, NY has played host to the National Buffalo Wing Festival. This three day event is the premier wing festival in the world and features cooking, eating, and beauty contests. This years event promised to deliver nothing but perfection for the world of the wing. Listed below are a few of the highlights of this world class event. Event Recap: Sources close to the action at Dunn Tire Park claim that this year's event was the biggest chicken wing related event in recorded history. Approximately 66,000 people attended over the three day weekend. Organizers at the event plowed through an 18 ton delivery of chicken wings before having to tap into a 1 ton reserve stockpiled at the Anchor Bar and Grill, the original home of the buffalo wing. When asked about the success of the event, organizer/founder Drew Cerza had the following to say, "The festival is just a great family event, and I think that has grown the attendance as well."
