2003 National Buffalo Wing Festival For the past two Labor Day weekends, Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, NY has played host to the National Buffalo Wing Festival. This three day event is the premier wing festival in the world and features cooking, eating, and beauty contests. Below is some of the press coverage around this event: Breaking News! It looks like Sonya Thomas cruised through the semi-finals and into tonight's final competition. She ate a whopping 134 wings (4.1 pounds of chicken) in 12 minutes and was swept off the stage on the shoulders of the other eaters. By the way, the closest runner up to Sonya consumed only 2.9 pounds of chicken. The final round has occurred and Ed "Cookie" Jarvis is the new champion! Congrats Cookie! See more...
